Retrospect

This weekend has taught/reminded me of a few things I sometimes lose sight of.

1. Gays are full of drama. Even if you can remove yourself from it, which I normally can, sometimes it blows up everything and there is nowhere to run.

2. Friends will let you down. They will hurt your feelings, they won’t always do or say the right thing. They may not see your best intentions, and may be selfish themselves. A strong sense of self and family is the only way to deal.

3. I’m over it. Drinking and partying has been responsible for some of the best AND worst nights in my life. The things that make me happy now have changed drastically that I have the love of my life and everything I need. My habits need to change to reflect that. The ingredients for an epic good or bad time are the same. A good time can also be made of less unstable ingredients.

4. People will tell you what they need if you listen closely. If someone says they need to go home, and can’t go out, believe them and say “have a good night”.
